William Attaway serves as the co-lead pastor of The Corner Church (formerly Southview Community Church). Prior to coming to Southview in 2004, he served as a staff minister at churches in Texas, Mississippi, and Alabama. Pastor William is a native of Birmingham, Alabama. He is a graduate of William Carey University in Hattiesburg, MS (B.A. in Religion), Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, TX (M.A. in Theology), and Trinity Southwest University (Ph.D. in Old Testament studies, emphasis in archaeology and Biblical backgrounds). William and his wife Charlotte were married in 1997, and they have two adult daughters.

Pastor William believes and tries to model that a pastor’s job is not to do everything himself, but to “equip the saints for the work of service”. His primary spiritual gifts are teaching, leadership, and administration. His favorite verse of Scripture is Romans 8:31 - “What then shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?”
