Joe Puryear serves as the Connections Director at The Corner Church, helping people move from simply attending to truly belonging. Whether it’s through small groups, affinity groups, or church-wide events, Joe is passionate about creating spaces where people can find their people and grow in faith.

Originally from South Carolina, Joe studied engineering at Princeton University and completed his master’s at Georgia Tech. He works full-time as a systems engineer in the space industry, and brings his problem-solving mindset and creativity into ministry. After moving to Northern Virginia, Joe and his wife Macy found deep community at The Corner Church, which inspired him to help others do the same.

In addition to leading Connections, Joe volunteers in the NXT GEN student ministry and enjoys finding fun ways to foster relationships across the church. Outside of ministry, he enjoys playing video games, planning themed events, and spending time with his wife, Macy, and their two sons, Henry and Jonathan.
